220 years passed from the violent and illegal theft, detachment and
seizure of 60% of the Sculptures of the Parthenon, of the Caryatid and the Column of the Erechtheion and of the frieze of the Temple of Athena Nike, their
transfer to the United Kingdom, their sale to the House of Commons and their
imprisonment in the British Museum !!!

The United
Kingdom and the British Museum continue to refuse the return of the Acropolis sculptures,
bought by the House of Commons from the thief Thomas Bruce (Lord of Elgin), who
looted and dismembered Parthenon, the Temple of Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, the
Erechtheion and the Temple of Athena Nike.

Instead of
intensifying the demand for the return of the stolen Sculptures, the Hellenic Government passed a law that allows the long-term export of cultural goods for
a period of up to 50 years (law 4761/2020 article 48 par. 13b FEK A ‘248 /
13.12.2020).
•
The Parthenon, the Erechtheion and the Temple of Athena Nike are creations of those
people who gave Humanity Democracy, Science, Art, Logic (Λόγος), that is all the
elements of its very existence.
•
International
Law and every concept of Law and Ethics have been brutally violated for 220
years with the tolerance of the States of the West, who enjoy the Lights of this
Civilization.
•
We, Hellenes,
as inheritors of the Hellenic Civilization, which is an element of our
identity, and all the civilized People on Planet Earth, we feel the insult from
the undiminished indignity “Hubris” (Ύβρις).
•
Nemesis is
here and demands the restoration of the disturbed balance.
We are
already going through the anniversary year 2021, the 200th anniversary of the
Greek Revolution,
“They are what we fought for”
•
WE PROTEST
for the permanent illegal detention from the United Kingdom and the British
Museum , of 60% of the Parthenon Sculptures, of the Caryatid and the Column
from Erechtheion, and of the frieze of the Temple of Athena Nike!!!

WE REMIND the
poems of Lord Byron, the reactions in the House of Commons during the debate on
the purchase of the stolen Sculptures by Thomas Bruce, the reactions in Europe
and Greece during the pre-revolutionary, revolutionary and post-revolutionary
period and the innumerable previous demands of repatriation of the Acropolis
Sculptures (1835, 1842, 1924, 1927, 1941, 1961, 1982etc).
WE RESIST the brutal insult
and violation of the Laws, the Hellenic and International Law and the Ethics!!!

WE DECLARE that we’
ll use
every legal means for the enforcement and application of the Rules of
international Law!!!

WE ASK FOR the immediate annulment of the law that allows the long – term
export of Monuments for 50 years (law 4761/2020 art.48 par.13b FEK A’
248/13.12.2020).
•
WE DEMAND
that the Greek Government, the Government of the United Kingdom and the British
Museum immediately initiate the procedures for the repatriation and the final reunification of the Parthenon
Sculptures, and the Return of the Caryatid and the Column of the Erechtheion, and the Frieze of
Athena Nike, according to the International Law.
•
WE CALL on
all Greek Citizens and all Citizens of the civilized world to join us against
the insult (Hubris), for the common good of the Humanity, in the name of Truth
and Justice. Civilization will save Humanity.
